Students whose SEVIS records have been terminated may apply for reinstatement under 8 CFR 214.2(f)(16),
provided the violation was due to circumstances beyond their control or minor infractions.
STEPS FOR REINSTATEMENT
Submit Form I-539 to USCIS with the following:
A new I-20 marked "Reinstatement Requested" from your DSO.
Proof of continued academic eligibility and enrollment intent.
