The Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS), established on 10th May 2016 under the Andhra Pradesh Societies Registration Act, 2001 (Act 35 of 2001) vide G.O. Ms. No. 110, functions under the overall chairmanship of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. It was formed to promote Brand Andhra Pradesh among the global Telugu diaspora, address issues of Non-Resident Telugus (NRTs), facilitate their active participation in the state’s development, and attract investments from NRTs and foreign entities. Designated as the implementation agency for the Andhra Pradesh Migrants’ Welfare and Development Policy (G.O. Ms. No. 155, dated 01-11-2017), APNRTS focuses on migrant safety, welfare, and leveraging their skills and remittances for state growth. Governed by a Governing Body and Executive Council, it has established key infrastructure such as the Migrant Resource Center (MRC), Migrant Economic Reintegration Center (MERC), and a 24x7 helpline. It also launched the self-financed ₹528 crore NRT ICON Tower project offering commercial and residential spaces. The President of APNRTS is a special invitee to the Consultative Committee of Information Technology and Electronics Industry (CCITEI), reinforcing its strategic role in diaspora engagement and development.
